Re: Loquitur : January 2010.... my new yr wishes to Advocates.....Alok

But may U ( advocates) send SMS to clients if court is not sitting etc. and help clients save their time, traffic and fuel.

May u all start Vichare/ courier service and email / scanning as needed and not call clients for just collecting / delivering papers. Now all hospitals and labs send technician at home to collect samples and use courier to send report. At hospitals reports and files are kept ready and client is saved from harassment of hours. May Advocates learn from this.

All businessman, service providers, including family physicians, landlords, CA's , tele, mobile , electricity, credit card, loan givers loose money to certain extent. Advocates can not be different. May god give advocates shakti and maturity to bear the loss from some clients and yet behave nicely with others and do justice to assignment taken.

To , Courts, Sales tax, income tax, service tax , banks etc etc have become fully computerised. May courts be not neglected and they be also fully computerised and modernised. May advocates see beyond themselves and see that new year gives less harassment, delay to their clients. After all they who pay.......for ...... bread and butter.....

Thanks and Regards,
Alok Tholiya (S.E.O.),

Happy New Year

The Bombay Bar Association wishes all its members a very happy and prosperous 2010. May you all win all your cases (though, logically, this means some of us won’t, but as one giant of the Bar famously said, “it happens”).

And may you also all receive your fees in full and on time and may you never receive another annoying call from Aisa-Vaisa bank.

And with Copenhagen done and dusted and buried, let us do our bit for climate change and save power by solemnly pledging never to send another SMS on Christmas, New Year, Diwali, Id, Papeti, Navruz, Makar Sankranti, Gudi Padwa, Independence Day, Republic Day, or anyone’s Jayanti. On any holiday or festival, in fact.

Not even for Bar Council elections.

Especially not for Bar Council elections.

Which are, by the way, on 7 January, so please vote.

very good mail ...from my collection

My dear Siddharth,

If you really want to make a difference to society, please avoid being over-sensitive to criticism. Please don't expect understanding, compassion etc. from your fellow activists. You will need to be able to function with large doses of criticism, both constructive and destructive.

We always fall in love with our own ideas... but we can't expect others to automatically fall in love. We will have to market our ideas to fellow activists, and cut through their scepticism and cynicism until they see the merit of what we are saying.

This is just a friendly view, which applies to me as much as you and everybody else. No offence is intended.

Warm Regards,
